Are you looking for something that has ALL of your students engaged? Do you hate planning out activities that are exhausting? Have you tried STEM yet in your classroom? I have got you covered with this FREE Stem activity that will have teachers and students excited!!!
This lesson is one that I designed to use at the beginning of the year, but it can be implemented whenever you have time. I read "Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon" and we discuss what it means to stand tall. We then build this tall tower and place a picture of Molly Lou on top!
Here are some examples of towers that were created. {Molly Lou has been removed}
The students had a great experience and even my reluctant students were engaged and working hard to come up with ideas. It's great to hear the discussion happening about how to build, see the students work together for a common goal, and make any changes necessary when the original idea doesn't work (happens just about every time)!
There are planning pages, recording and tracking sheets included as well!
